Kinley MacGregor: Born in Sin

Born in Sin is the third book of the MacAllisters series by Kinley MacGregor.

Sin MacAllister is the most deadly brother and he cherishes the way he frightens everyone. He was tossed away by both his parents and forced to live with their enemy at a young and impressionable age. He has never know love or any other silly emotion. Sin despises Scotland and everything Highland.

Caledonia (Callie) MacNeely is a Scottish heir. She has been running her late fathers keep for years. She is independent, brave and loyal to anyone she holds dear. She loves with her whole heart.

Brief Description:

Callie is being held prisoner by King Henry to insure peace between the borders of his English and Scottish lands. King Henry devises a plan to wed Callie and Sin and force the raiders of his English lands to be punished by Sin. Callie knows that she is honor bound to protect her people by sacrificing herself to this marriage.

Favorite Quotes:

“Sin smiled evilly. In the last nine years, he had been excommunicated five times. The pope himself referred to Sin as Satan’s Most Favored Spawn.”

“Do you have a name?” she asked. “Since you claim to know me so well, you tell me.” “Well, I’m rather sure you mother didn’t name you Demon Butcher, Satan’s Spawn, or King’s Executioner.” “S-I-N. As in conceived in, born in, and currently living happily in.”

Review:

I absolutely love Kinley MacGregor and she has done it again. Sin is my favorite brother by far. He shows such strength in all he does but gentleness toward Callie. Callie’s loyalty was unwavering towards Sin. She feel in love almost from the begining.

I give this book 5 of 5 Stilettos for its well loved characters and its heartbreaking tales of childhood horrors.
