Hannah Howell: Highland Champion

Hannah Howell is one of my top 5 Highlander writers. Her book Highland Champion is #11 in the Murray Family Series.

Brief Description From Goodreads:

Liam Cameron is certain he’s died and gone to heaven when he opens his eyes to the angel before him. But the pain that wracks his body proves he is still earth-bound. Keira Murray MacKail saved Liam’s life — and he has some enticing ways he would like to thank her. Soon, lust gives way to a feeling much more profound for a woman whose battles he wants to fight … though he fears the most difficult one will be for her heart …

Keira quickly learns that Liam has danger chasing him. As her healing kindness frees him to tell his tale, she confides the trouble that plagues her: she is a laird’s widow now responsible for saving a small village pillaged by cruel invaders. But even as Liam makes the crusade to reclaim her lands his own, he will face a far greater challenge to win her trust — and her love — for all time …

Favorite Quotes:

“It was rather nice to be a lusty, wanton lass, she thought just before passion burned away all clarity of mind.”

“Cease your fretting. The mon cannae take his eyes off you.” “That doesnae have to mean he likes what he sees. He could be stunned with horror.”

“This isnae dignified.” “A laird shouldnae be draped in cats.”

Review:

I absolutely love Hannah Howell. Every story is original and well done. You are completely engrossed in the book. I seem to lose track of time with every word I read. The love story between Liam and Keira seems beyond impossible but is suddenly right in front of them. I truly love these characters and would recommend this book to everyone.

I give this book 4 of 5 Stilettos
