Guest Post and Giveaway: Wildewood-Revenge

Please welcome the amazing B A Morton author of Wildewood-Revenge.

Author Topic:

Stranger than fiction

I’ve never been bothered by spooky stuff and can usually find a logical explanation for odd goings on, but even so, I was surprised by the strange happenings in our listed cottage. Voices in the quiet of the night, the young, mother calling her child and the old man grumping at our dogs. Mysterious events like the fresh wet footprints in the hall -child sized- though there were no young children in our home. And that’s not all, now and again without warning a strong smell of pitch and burning invaded our lounge lasting mere minutes before disappearing just as quickly, all very strange, but rather endearing in an odd sort of way. Perhaps, the house, had decided to share its memories with us.

Research revealed some interesting facts. The cottage was built in 1829 on the foundations of a medieval chapel and crypt, with stone from a ruined castle. Evolving since the early 1100’s the wooded site played host to more than its fair share of medieval shenanigans. Secret assignations between rival landed gentry, baptisms of barons and the suspicious discovery of a body under the drive, all tweaked my writer’s curiosity and imagination. When two independent psychic readings suggested the cottage was filled to the gunnels with previous residents, deceased of course, and whispered tales of witchcraft and skulduggery, well, let’s just say, we weren’t entirely surprised.

I like to think we share our home and by and large, they, whoever they are, allow us.

Wildewood Revenge is the first in a trilogy based very loosely on fact that may well prove stranger than fiction, a tale of hidden treasure, an unchivalrous knight and an unlikely heroine.

Book Description:

A knight. A witch. A Secret.

When Grace, a twenty first century heroine, is accidently transported through a time portal into the clutches of an impoverished medieval knight with one eye on her ransom, we are treated to a brilliant evocation of medieval England which heaves with corruption and intrigue.

The remote and beautiful wilderness of ancient Northumberland rings out with the sound of clashing swords, the hiss of arrows, thundering hooves and the chink of coin bags changing hands in shady deals.

It is all there: a spirited and sensual romance, an action-packed adventure story, hidden treasure, revengeful and devious barons and corpulent and corrupt clergy.

Beset on all sides by danger and deception, with only their wits and a small band of loyal followers to assist them, Grace and Miles of Wildewood find their lives inexplicably entwined as they battle for justice, honour and love.
